NETWORK / IP PLAN

Document the system’s network.

Network / IP Plan brings together the network interfaces of the project’s devices: IPv4 addresses, subnets, VLANs and the switch port each cable reaches. Skemy documents the configuration; it does not configure the switch or the devices.

Network / IP Plan

Network / IP Plan, simplified with sample data: one row for each network interface of five devices, with addressing mode, IPv4, subnet, VLAN and switch port. The unconfigured interface of Display 2 is selected and gets the first free address of the AV Control subnet, 10.10.20.2, with the subnet’s VLAN 20. Finally the Telecamera PTZ row is opened, flagged because 10.10.30.21 is outside the 10.10.20.0/24 subnet. The table below shows the current step.

Simplified view of Network / IP Plan with sample data; the interface is shown in Italian, as in the app. Skemy documents the network: it does not configure switches or devices. This is not the application.

One row per interface

Each device can have one or more interfaces, with a name, port, MAC, hostname and static or DHCP addressing. The IP Plan lists them with zone, IPv4, subnet, VLAN and switch port: search by device, IP, MAC or hostname, and filter by subnet, VLAN, zone or addressing mode.

Subnets and VLANs

An IPv4 subnet defines the network address, gateway and DHCP range, and can be linked to a VLAN from the project catalogue, the same one I/O Mapping uses. An interface takes its subnet’s VLAN, or one set explicitly. For a static address, Skemy suggests the subnet’s first free address, skipping the gateway, the DHCP range and addresses already in use.

Switch ports

Each interface’s switch port comes from the project’s cables. For every port you document the mode, access or trunk, with the native VLAN and the tagged VLANs: the same data I/O Mapping shows on the switch front panel.

Address checks

Skemy flags invalid or duplicate IPv4 addresses, addresses outside their subnet and other inconsistencies, such as a switch port whose VLAN differs from the connected interface’s. The checks cover the project’s data: Skemy does not query the real network.

Network Schedule

The Network Schedule gathers the interfaces of the whole project, grouped as you choose, and exports to CSV or Excel for whoever configures the equipment.

In the same project

Devices, ports and cables are the schematic’s own: an interface’s switch port is the one its cable reaches, and the VLAN catalogue is the one I/O Mapping uses. Skemy documents the network and its intended configuration; it does not configure switches, routers or devices, does not discover the network and does not monitor it. Addresses are IPv4 only.
